In a vast hall of the museum
are gathered some findings of Golasecca civilization, from bright to translucent
pieces, fibula in iron and bronze. In the museum you can find tracks of this
civilization (1st period from 800 to 600 b. C. - 2nd one from 600 to 450 b. C.). These findings
of several technical instruments and little objects show the profile of these
people: peaceful, dedicated exclusively to help and exchange of goods proceeding
from crops and agriculture, and elaborate animal and vegetal fibre for domestic
usage. Beyond their taste for clothes, they are rich in accessories and
particulars, you can find characteristic bronze objects, design proceed to
Etruscan period, but is newly interpreted under a local vision. In Lombardy
with the term "Golasecca culture" we mean all the 1st iron period that
represents the 1st developed form of artisan civilization with its characteristic
objects belonging to historical societies, like the specialized employment of
the different materials used to create different items and setting the territory
for human needs. Golasecca was a big society politically and economically
organized among the rivers Sesia and Adda, with great settlements moreover
on the lake Maggiore and Como.
