The route winds along the opposite side of the Cannobina Valley's state road, on the old Borromea street. It'a a technical path with dangerous points, especially concerning the descent. Riding the bicycle is not advisable (even to experts) particulary in the final stretch, when the mule-track crosses the Orrido.
The ascent towards Cavaglio San Donnino is short with the highest percentage of 9,3 and it is possible to cycle.

The start (like all the routes in Cannobio) is from the parking-lot, in front of the field.
Take on the left the Sotto Chiosi road and pass under the state road. After 450 meters there is a crossing, then go along the central street, quite right, until Ballerino bridge.
At the end of the wonderful pedestrian crossing, turn on the left until the crossing with Madonna delle Grazie road. Here, turn on and pass over the bridge that leads to the beginnig of the ascent towards Cannobina valley's inside.
Now the path goes up with moderate incline for 2 km and then it becames level until Cavaglio San Donnino's crossroad, which is on the right (3,7 km from the start of the ascent). Pass over the bridge (recently built up) and climb to Cavaglio San Donnino.
About 20 m from the main village's oarking-lot, on the right there is a path descending towards the bottom of the valley. This red-painted path starts near a pylon.
The path descends fro 400 m to a picturesque bridge.
From here, the mule-trak plunges into the wood along the opposite side of that covered in the going journey, and finally reach an alp.
Sometimes irregular pebbes or excavated earth characterize the ending trail. After some little valleys with streams, it is possible to reach (after 3 km) San'Anna's sanctuary.
Here it is strongly advisable (even to expert) not to cycle, beacause there is a precipice of an hundred of metres. However walking is allowed.
Now the trail descends to a big Chapel near Traffiume. Turn on the left, crossing the narrow streets of Traffiume and reach the main church.
Walk along the church, and take the initially level excavated earth that goes to the lake. Afer 100 m there is a crossroad, stay on the right and go up to Grebbia. The resort is reached after 1 km. Near the big condominium, turn on the right and join the asphalt road.
Now descend, on the left, join the state road. From here turn on the right and pass over the bridge, then you finally arriva in Cannobio, near the sporting field.
