Casa
Calderara, in Vacciago a few km from Orta San
Giulio, on the slopes of the lake: it is a little typical
house of Orta's Lake and its building belonging to 17th century. The internal
face is characterized by 2 loggia - with 5 spans - overlapped the 1st
floor porch. The arches are situated on granite columns merged with railings
in beaten iron. The painter Antonio Calderara lived in this house, born in
1903 in Abbiategrasso and died in 1978; his collection is composed by a total of
327 works (paintings and sculptures contemporaneous) 56 of whom are by himself,
271 and 133 among European and non European artists gathered by the
friendship with the teacher. The artist is on the territory with his works -
considered the best within the figurative period and with a master
selection of the following real/abstract phase.
