Beautiful
natural scenery, with its meadows and conifer woods, it is situated inland of Verbania, in a panoramic
setting overlooking Lake Maggiore. It is formed by the Pollino and Esio villages.
It was an ancient Pre-romanic and Romanic settlement. Visit S. Salvatore Oratory (1645),
where in 1950 Roman tombs and ornaments dating back to the 4th century were found.
Today it's an important tourist resort and offers many opportunities: walks to
Pian di Sole and Pian Cavallo (1243 m), with winter sports facilities, as well as golf courses and tennis
courts. At Villa Bernocchi   ,
many classical music concerts and cultural events take place.
