Wonderful the
view on the lake, from Sesto Calende to
Verbania basin and of the Borromeo
Isles, in front of the Rocca of Angera and on the "crown" of Alps ending with Monte Rosa:
you can see the panorama from the balcony of the "Duměn" of Taino, the parish church.
After about 100 m from it and practically in the same panoramic position, between
1981 and 1991 the public Municipal Park "Taino for peace" was established and
dedicated by the city hall to its deceased inhabitants. From the vast square situated in front of
 the cemetery, a great stair leads you to the park centre, toward "the place of the 4 cardinal points" full
of symbols. It was projected by Giň Pomodoro. The material used are belonging from
the nearest valleys and lakes: white and grey granite of Montorfano, pink granite of
Baveno and green of Mergozzo, grey gneiss of Ossola valley, black
"serizzo" of Vigezzo
valley, porphyry of Quasso al Monte, yellow sandstone from Angera. |
