over Verbano. The built up area has a hill territory, but it stretches  out to the shore.
Here there are scattered houses and villas, while the antique village is on the hills.
Tourism has changed the economy of this village. Many foreigners have chosen
Tronzano as a holiday resort and here have bought houses or built villas. The historic
centre preserves the architecture of the mountain village of the Pre-Alps and it is
pleasant walking along the old cobbled paving lanes. In Bassano it is worth visiting
the Santa Maria Assunta church, built beside the bell tower in romanesque style.
On the lake, between Tronzano and Pino, you can always play windsurf thanks
to the continuous presence of the wind. This shore is called "dei canapi",
because in 19th century they came here to macerate hemp.
