It is situated in the North West area of Sesto Calende, in the locality there is S. Vincenzo. The stone was declared natural and national monument, preserved by law, belongs from the Quaternary period, when it was transported near the lake during glaciations. In ancient periods on its rock, little valleys were created to gather precious
oils employed to officiate antique cults. Because of its antique origin, it has driven popular fantasy, used to invent several stories. The most famous one tells that once upon a time Jupiter decided to punish Venus and a fisherman because they were making love with passion. The man was transformed in a dragon and so it burnt all the nearby territory with flames. Population abandoned the territory to avoid the danger, but several of them died. The wife of the fisherman was tired and exhausted; she fell in the wood and died while defending and protecting with her body her two children. To cast a spell she was transformed in a big stone with a hen shape protecting his chicks. Since then the stone, in spite of bad weather, witnesses maternal love.
